POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE: PAC

Political action committees (PACs) are organizations that raise money to promote political campaigns and help elect candidates. America First has a registered PAC—called the AFCU Development Fund, Inc.—which supports individuals and parties who align with the credit union’s interests. The funds are raised by our leaders, our members, and the community to assist campaigns on the local, state, and national level. These kinds of efforts are vital to ensure the continued success of credit unions and members of credit unions.

WHY IS A PAC SO IMPORTANT?

The decisions made in Congress can have a large impact on the credit union industry, including where we’re able to conduct our business and what products, services & benefits we can offer. PACs have a powerful influence on legislative bodies. Instead of each individual making small contributions on their own, a PAC enables the community to pool their resources and focus large donations where they matter. PACs help lawmakers better understand the wants & needs of our members. For complete information on PAC, or for Chapter PAC Goals, please contact Nicole Cypers.
